This country girl shows us that no matter where we live,

we can have a big impact on someone else’s life.

About

ABOUT

Kellie's books remind us that we are all more alike than we are different and that no matter where we live, we each can make a difference in the lives of others.

A Different Kind of Same

What could a country girl possibly have in common with someone raised in a city?

Actually, more than you think.  When we take the time to look past our differences, finding things in common is easy.

In this collection of stories, the author shares thoughts and insights gained through her observations of life.

Kellie was raised in the country and still lives on a farm today.  But the experiences she writes about are helpful no matter where one lives.  Everyday encounters are turned into inspirational messages.

We all want to fit in.  Once we realize this, it’s the beginning of seeing others in a new way; making it easier to be more patient and kind.

Her desire is to share a message of hope, understanding, and recognition of how alike we really are.

This country girl’s genuineness and faith show that

whether we’re roping steers or hailing cabs, we are still

more alike than we are  different.

Making A Difference

Do you ever wonder if what you do really matters in the bigger scheme of things?

Living in the country, where cows outnumber the people, isn’t exactly the way to make friends and influence people.

Or is it?   It doesn’t matter where you live, you can make a difference in someone else's life.

You don’t have to be a famous artist or musician to inspire and bring joy to others through your artwork or music.  All it takes is sharing your time, being kind, and treating others how you would like to be treated.

You can do that anywhere.

Come join this country girl as she shares stories of people and events that have made a difference in her life.  And just maybe, you will see how you are making a difference too.

This country girl shares experiences that will inspire you and touch your heart.

BIO

Kellie Kunzler

Kellie Kunzler was raised on a ranch in the little town of Almo in Southern Idaho. She grew up helping on the ranch and singing in her family’s country western dance band.  Her love of reading started at a young age and opened up a whole new world to her beyond the mountain valley where she lived.

After graduating from college to be a secretary, she met and married her cowboy, Del Dee. Kellie and Del have six children, and continue the tradition of raising cattle and horses in Rosette, on their sixth-generation ranch in Northern Utah.

Kellie recently earned a bachelor’s degree while studying family history research. She plays the organ and piano for her church congregation, is an AEMT on the ambulance service, and is a 4-H leader. She also drives a school bus for the local school in Park Valley.  Kellie spends most of her time writing, helping out on the ranch, and being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

BOOK PREVIEW

Excerpt from A Different Kind of Same

My struggles to fit in throughout my life have made me more aware of those who are “different.” The people everyone seems to notice and who are usually the life of the party are easy to see in a crowd.

But I notice the quiet ones who sit in the corner (usually because I’m sitting next to them!). They are the ones who dress differently, the ones who seem to feel uncomfortable and have a hard time joining in.

It took a few years for me to realize that we all struggle with “fitting in.”

Every person I have ever met has had to “find their place” in the world. Each stage of our life brings opportunities and challenges to find how to fit in.

Along with everybody else, I still struggle to fit in with some groups.

The most important lesson I’ve learned so far in my life, especially since 2020, is that while we all have differences, we also have many things in common. One thing, we are all children of God who want to be loved and accepted. We all want to fit in. Once we realize this, it’s the beginning of seeing each other in a new way. Being more understanding, patient, and kind to each other is easier.

When that happens, we end up changing the world for the better!

Excerpt from Making A Difference

I’ve always liked this quote: Do it anyway.

I always thought it was from Mother Teresa. But I learned Mother Teresa actually quoted those thoughts from Kent M. Keith’s poem, “Paradoxical Commandments.”

That saying has stuck in my mind, and I’ve pondered it over and over. If people treat you mean, be kind anyway. If you work hard building something and it gets  destroyed, build it anyway (including your yard, even if you don't have a green thumb!).

Many times, we tend to talk ourselves out of doing things. “What’s the point?” Other
times we may listen to those voices that tell us it’s too hard or a waste of our time. But you know what? You may never be a Rembrandt or Charles M. Russell. But, if you want to paint something, do it anyway. So what if you make mistakes while  playing the piano or any other instrument? I make mistakes on the organ  every Sunday. Keep playing anyway. Your music or art can touch the hearts of those around you, including your own.

Will our actions really make a difference in the overall picture? I believe they will. We can make the world a better place when we make the choice to be kind anyway, forgive anyway, do good anyway, or create anyway.

Another quote Mother Teresa often referred to is, “In the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

That says it all.
